Dhafer Youssef is a Tunisian Oud player, vocalist and composer born in November 19th, 1967 in Teboulba. Descendent of a modest family from this Center-eastern fishing village, he comes from a long line of muezzins. For him mastering vocal performances is a heritage. Dhafer Youssef is a composer, singer and oud player. He developed an interest in jazz at an early age and clandestinely listened to it during his education at a Qur'anic school.
On September 24, 2015 Multikultivator - Platform for Culture And Arts Development organized Dhafer Youssef Quartet Charity Concert at Big Scene of National Theatre in Belgrade. This was an kick-of event for Multivestity - Platform for Informal Permanent Music Education.
